Our approach is shaped by global, regional and national directives and policies; UN Sustainable Development Goals, Malawi National Vision2063, the Malawi Growth and Development Strategy III, the National Agriculture Policy, previous strategic planning efforts, and ongoing SSLLP’s re-design efforts aligned to need for transformative approaches to tackling rural poverty and natural resource management challenges. SSLLP develops its strategic plans through a consultative process involving the senior leadership of Board and the Executive Committee. Representatives from key SSLLP departments develops strategic objectives based on guidance provided by senior leadership. To ensure equities are represented, all staff, board members and trustees are invited to provide input and feedback on the strategic planning process. In addition, senior officials of SSLLP meet with representatives from several government departments, small holder farmers and partner organizations to analyze and discuss the strategic objectives of the Strategic Planning process.
