Chavula Piggery Project

This project site is located to the south west of Mzuzu city in the northern region. The project aimed at improving the income and nutrition of 45 farm families (15 original and 30 POGs) in Mzuzu through placement of pigs (2 pregnant gilts and 1 boar per family) and provision of training in improved pig husbandry, vegetable gardening, family nutrition and environmental conservation. Funding from Bothar Ireland.

Start & end date: April, 2006 – March, 2008
